2025 Edition
At long last, the day had arrived! Thursday June 12th marked the day students in elementary, middle and high school competed against each other (each tested on their own spelling lists) to earn the title of Champion of the Spelling Bee. The competition was stiff. It seemed the younger the participants, the more self-confidence they enjoyed. As the event progressed first and second grades in primary made a very strong showing. In the end, it was Sofia Castro from 9th grade as third place. Daniela Correa, a representative from 7th grade, won second place and Ana Mendicuti from 12th grade as first place.
We thank Miss Rocío for all her dedication to ensuring the excellent quality of this event. The number of words and complexity of the spelling lists has increased- clearly marking a positive trend in our school’s ability to spell correctly. Each student focused on the words provided at the start of the year- kudos to the English teachers in each grade and to parents who supported the effort to make this a noteworthy occasion.
The very next day the final for the preschool Spelling Bee took place. Students were excited to represent both Preprimary and Special English. The words on their lists reflected their grade level, but their tenacity and focus spoke of a level of concentration that was remarkable.
